THE PROJECT
Project overview
Independent brand concept · Solo designer · 2026. Mosaic explores a visual identity for a cross-border wealth platform serving newcomers to Canada. I developed the strategy, evaluated six directions, and built a scalable system across navigation, app-icon, favicon, and product-touchpoint contexts.
The design challenge
The central question was how to represent the experience of building a financial life across borders without relying on predictable map, flag, or currency symbols. I evaluated the identity against four criteria: belonging, movement, trust, and the ability to scale across product touchpoints.
Exploring six directions
I developed six distinct logo directions and tested each as a primary lockup, navigation mark, app icon, and favicon. Comparing the same applications made the tradeoffs visible and helped separate an interesting symbol from a dependable identity system.
The approved Bridge
The selected direction is a continuous M formed by two arches. It communicates connection and forward movement with a stable, human shape that remains clear at small sizes. The bridge metaphor supports Mosaic’s role as a platform between a newcomer’s financial past and future.
A warm financial palette
Deep Atlantic provides credibility, Crossing Copper adds warmth and momentum, Arrival Cream softens the product surface, and Settlement Sage introduces calm support. Together, the palette feels approachable without weakening the trust expected from a wealth product.
Next step
The next phase is to extend the approved identity into core product screens, onboarding, and responsive marketing applications, then test whether newcomers interpret the system as clear, credible, and welcoming.
